The "Flame of Kouin" is the forbidden magic item of fire. It allows whoever obtains it to gain immortality as long as it remains lit. How does it do that? Basically, it causes time to repeat itself over as soon as the user's natural lifespan is used up for everyone but the user. In other words, life does not continue, it's restarted over and over again when the holderÂ’s life is supposed to be up. This cycle while the flame is lit is called Lynuka.
Every time the cycle restarts, everyone returns to a certain point in time in their lives without knowing, thus in my story, the cause of de ja vu. Meaning every single person is expected, there are no new beings to enter this world while the flame is lit.
The shinsei have been sent to put out this flame and end the Lynuka once and for all.
